DIY - Acoustic material Envizol
Are you planning to soundproof your room? Or make sound absorbers on your own?
If yes, use the leading acoustic material from recycled PET. Glass wool is a thing of the past.
Properties
Sustainable and effective
Envizol is an acoustic and thermal insulation board made from recycled polyester fibers. It is not made from natural stone materials that have to be extracted from the mine like rock/glass wool.
Tiny strings of the recyclate are pressed into a board of standard size 120 x 60 cm and thickness of 5 cm. This technology creates tiny air capsules in the material, which makes it so effective for acoustic and thermal applications.
Envizol TB OH50 has a density of 50 kg/m3 and is quite firm material while being sort of fluffy. You won’t squeeze it much as it holds its form nicely.
Health-friendly
The main advantage of Envizol is it’s completely safe to handle in domestic conditions. The material is not producing any microparticles as glass/rock wool does, so you don’t have to worry about inhaling anything while manipulating with Envizol. It doesn’t irritate skin anyhow - it’s safe to use even without a cover.
DIY - Making your own Sound absorbing panels
The internet is full of guides and videos on how to make your own sound absorbing panels. If you are handy and know how a thing or two about woodworking, you can do it!
Use Envizol as the sound absorbing panel. It is a very effective absorber of sound waves. We use it for our Woody absorption panels as well! Two boards stacked to form a 10 cm absorber are the most popular variant. It can absorb nicely down to 150 Hz with the peak of absorption at around 300 Hz.
The thicker the absorber, the lower frequency it can absorb.
DIY - SOUNDPROOF YOUR ROOM
Envizol can effectively soundproof the walls and you can completely substitute glass/rock wool with it.
Don’t hesitate to fill your partitions with Envizol.
The thermal properties of the material make it perfect for the application as an insulator. Envizol was intended for thermal insulation first, the acoustic effectiveness was discovered just after it was used as an insulator in trains!
