Acoustic material Envizol is sold in packages of 10 pieces.

Using glass wool for acoustics is a thing of the past. Envizol is a sustainable alternative made from recycled PET that achieves the same acoustic properties as the highest-effective absorbing materials. We wouldn’t use any other material for our Woody absorbers.

Envizol 100 mm delivers sound absorption performance comparable to 100 mm mineral wool, but is made from post-consumer PET, eliminating the need for primary raw materials used in traditional insulation.

Envizol is certified with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and is safe to work with without any protective gear - you don’t have to be worried about the ultra-fine particles that are being released from the glass wool. That’s why it’s an ideal candidate for DIY acoustic absorbers for your home studio. It can be used even without covering.

Comparison with mineral wool

Envizol acoustic material delivers sound absorption performance comparable to mineral wool, but is made from post-consumer PET, eliminating the need for primary raw materials.

Unlike traditional options, Envizol does not release harmful micro-particles into the air, making it a safer and healthier choice for both people and the environment.

For example, Isover UNI, a commonly used acoustic insulation with similar performance properties, is shown.

How to use it

• storage in a dry place (protect the panels against rain, they take a few days until they dry out)

• use a bread knife to cut the material or specialized tools for cutting insulation boards

Can I have this material in a different colour?

Envizol comes only as grey boards. We recommend using acoustically transparent fabric to cover it so it looks nice (for example canvas fabrics).

How many absorbers do I need in my studio or at home?

In a good music studio or rehearsal room, acoustic panels need to cover at least 50 % of the wall area, with absorbers playing the major part. In a home listening room or home theatre, they should occupy at least 20 % of the wall area while large commercial spaces such as offices and restaurants typically require a tailor-made solution.

Where do I place the absorbing panels?

The very first thing to do is cover the first reflection points on the walls between the source of sound and the listening position. That way you eliminate early reflections. If you don't do this, the sound waves will bounce off the walls and interfere with the direct waves from the speakers, resulting in a sound that’s not clear and balanced. Does this material work like the foam tiles/pyramids?

Envizol works much more effectively compared to conventional foam tiles and pyramids. You can’t absorb below 250 Hz with foam tiles. Furthermore, foam pyramids usually fail to contribute to a reflection-free zone at the listening position.

That said, pyramids do a decent job at high frequencies as well as while preventing flutter echoes. So if you insist, use them on parallel untreated walls to complement your absorbers from Envizol.
